Gina Tognoni portrays Sami Nelson and is the love interest of Owen Brogno. A former Peace Corps worker, she moves in with her Aunt in Venice Beach and begins working at a non-profit health clinic. Her goal in life is to give back to society and to the global community.

As a two-time Emmy Award winner for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Dinah Marler on CBS-TV’s Guiding Light, Tognoni is no stranger to daytime audiences. She previously portrayed Kelly Cramer on ABC-TV’s One Life to Live, which she will reprise in late 2009. Tognoni's other television credits include The Sopranos, Law & Order, This Time Around, Fastlane, and Phenomenon.

Tognoni, who was born in St. Louis, Missouri, was discovered in the Miss Teen USA pageant. She currently lives in New York City and is married to Joseph Chiarello.
