Jordan Clarke embodies the role of John Brogno, known to all as The Colonel. His military training invades every part of his being, including his relationships with his children Gina and Owen. He shows no emotion, disapproves of his children’s lifestyles and watches Fox News religiously.
Originating the role of Billy Lewis on Guiding Light in May 1983, Jordan Clarke has been a viewer favorite for the past twenty-six years. In 2006, he received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Jordan actually began his work with Guiding Light in November 1974, when he joined the CBS-TV daytime drama in the role of Dr. Tim Ryan. He has also been active in regional theater with the Ithaca Repertory Theatre, the Olney Theatre and the Long Wharf Theatre. In addition, he is a co-founder of the off-Broadway Shaliko Co. where he starred in Shadow of a Gunman and Children of the Gods.
Jordan has appeared in numerous primetime series including Three's Company, Knight Rider, The Tony Randall Show, Fantasy Island, M*A*S*H and Law and Order. He has had featured roles in the television miniseries The Executioner's Song and Testimony of Two Men and also appeared in the television movies Charleston, Forever, Jacob, Have I Loved and Ridley Scott's White Squall.
Jordan and his daughter Chelsea live in New York City.
