I've really appreciated the support of our Venice/Otalia family lately. I've posted about this on twitter and just hadn't made the time to stop by here in a while....
My dad called about a week ago to say he'd been diagnosed with follicular Lymphoma. (I thought the timing was ironic since Crystal and Michelle had just finished their 1/2 marathon to benefit Leukemia/Lymphoma research.) He was waiting for the oncologist's assessment, hoping it would prove not to be the aggressive kind. I put it out there on twitter and heard back from so many people who promised to pray for him and that was such a comfort to me.
Got another call from Dad today... he has the "easily manageable" slow growing kind of lymphoma that will require no treatment at this time! They've ordered an MRI and CT just to be sure that it hasn't spread but the oncologist said he doesn't think it has. He'll just go back for another check-up with the oncologist in 6 months. We are all very relieved and feeling very blessed!!
I think one of the things that touched me the most through all this was hearing via twitter, email, and Facebook from people like Kimmy, Michelle, Harrison White, Tina Sloan, and Jill Lorie Hurst, saying they were praying for my father. Amazing people! So glad we've crossed paths!
