Hillary B. Smith portrays the role of Guya, formerly known as Jane Hollis. When her studio executive husband gets caught in a scandal with his assistant, Jane turns to her hippie roots and leaves Hollywood for Venice Beach. She changes her name to Guya and establishes herself as the “go to” spiritual guide. She is the maternal aunt of Gina and Owen.
Hillary B. Smith is best known for creating the role of Nora Hanen on ABC-TV’s One Life to Live. From the moment Hillary stepped onto OLTL’s canvas in 1992, Llanview gained a brand new heroine and daytime star. Hillary received a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1994 and was nominated again in 2000.
Hillary has starred in a host of other powerful television performances including playing opposite Gene Wilder as his wife in the primetime sitcom, Something Wilder, and a stint on NBC-TV’s Law & Order: SUV. She also completed four motion pictures while at OLTL: Lifebreath (1997), starring Luke Perry; It Had to Be You (2000), starring Natasha Henstridge; Maid in Manhattan (2002), starring Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes; and most recently, Todd Solondz’s Palindromes (2004), starring Ellen Barkin.
Hillary is also proud of her performance in theater including Song Night in the City at New York’s Orpheum Theatre, World of Black and White in an Off-Broadway run, A Reel American Hero, The Heidi Chronicles, and Lips Together, Teeth Apart.
She is married to Philip Smith and they have two children.
